Enabling Enterprise

Enabling Enterprise has been set up to give you the opportunity to get some great experiences, meet some interesting people, and get into places you never would otherwise. Over your course, you’ll set up a project – if you’re doing Enabling Enterprise in Business then you’ll start a small business, if Science then you’ll be creating an exciting new product, whereas in Maths you’ll be choosing a new sport for the Olympics.

Great Trips

Whatever your subject though, you’ll get the chance to go out on trips to some great places you wouldn’t go otherwise – whether its helping an airport solve a business problem or going up a skyscraper in Canary Wharf. On your trips, you’ll have chances to take part in business games, interview people about their careers or even present your project to a panel of judges, like Dragons Den.

On your trips you’ll also get a chance to meet interesting business people and entrepreneurs, as well as campaigners and experts in different areas. Make sure you take the opportunity to ask loads of questions!

A Great Qualification

If you’re doing Enabling Enterprise at secondary school, then you might have a chance to get a Level 2 Certicate for Developing Enterprise Skills – if you pass, this will be the same as getting an extra GCSE so it’s worth working hard for! There’s no final exam, but you need to keep a portfolio of all your work over the year – so keep everything carefully.

When you come to apply for jobs or for college, make sure you remember what you’ve done on your Enabling Enterprise course – it should mean you have lots to good stuff to talk about.
